Sunday, July 9th: Arrival at MTN TOP

Hi everyone! It’s Margot!

Today has been a journey! Let me tell you, the car ride was exhausting and I ate so much! Especially flaming hot cheetos (which ended up making my stomach even worse to be honest). The car ride, however, was shorter than I expected and went by quickly.

When we got here, I was uneasy, but I definitely saw God in the way we all came together. My YRG is pretty nice and I’m really getting along with them. We call ourselves the Sharkbaits.

We played games and had a really nice dinner (chicken on a bun, yum).

I'm getting really tired, so I'm typing this from my hammock. I just want to thank all the Faith Partners for making this possible. This camp means the world to me. Again, thank you!

Prayer For Monday:  Grant, O God, that your holy and life-giving Spirit may so move every human heart, that barriers which divide us may crumble, suspicions disappear, and hatreds cease; that our divisions being healed, we may live in justice and peace; through Jesus Christ our Lord.  Amen.

Mountain TOP Team Departs Sunday

Below is the prayer for this Sunday, July 9th, that we ask you to pray for us as we travel. Thank you again for your support of our mission team!

For Sunday, July 9th:  O God, our heavenly Father, whose glory fills the whole creation, and whose presence we find wherever we go:  Preserve those who travel; surround them with your loving care; protect them from every danger; and bring them in safety to their journey’s end; through Jesus Christ our Lord.  Amen.

MTN TOP Wrap-Up Post

Dear J4Y Families and Friends,

Thank you for following along with our journeys and service and for praying for our mission team last week! Here is the final round of photos from our week at Mountain TOP.

Friday - Final Day of Service

“The highlight of my day was probably being able to bond the most with my friends and YRG. We knew it was the last chance for us to be together and we wanted to make it count. After the fish hook worship (the last worship of the week, and the most emotional), I sat in the worship center with my newly found friends from Jerome UMC in Columbus for about twenty minutes. All of us were laughing and crying and reminiscing. This was probably the highlight of my week; knowing that I had made friends who have my back under any and all circumstances.

I saw God in how the Holy Spirit was able to unify these teenage strangers and spread love through our hearts, threading us together. I also saw God in how Mountain TOP touches the lives of the people that we serve and in all of the things that the will of God has us made to do.

I have been given this amazing opportunity due to my amazing and selfless faith partners who have given so much to make this possible. They are why I am here today, so a major thank you to them.”
